Brain Awareness Week (BAW) 2010 is March 15-21; our local events have been planned for March and April. Internationally, BAW events will be presented in more than 76 countries by over 2,200 organizations. The events highlight the wonders of the brain and nervous system, to help people of all ages and backgrounds understand more about the “universe between their ears.” BAW is an international effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and the Society for Neuroscience to advance public awareness about the progress and benefits of brain research. 

All Winston-Salem Brain Awareness events have been organized by: The Brain Awareness Council (BAC) of Wake Forest University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Targacept.

Free admission for Forsyth County schools; regular school rates apply for out-of-county schools.
Classes must pre-register.
SciWorks members free. Non-member fees: $10 Adult; $8 Student/Senior; $6 Ages 2-5; Free Under 2.

Nationally-recognized experts on ADHD, autism, conduct disorder, epilepsy, music, neuroscience and physics took part in Winston-Salem’s celebration of Brain Awareness Season 2009. 

Brain Awareness Week (BAW) 2009 was March 16-22. Local events were planned for March and April. Internationally, BAW events were presented in more than 76 countries by over 2,200 organizations. The events highlight the wonders of the brain and nervous system, to help people of all ages and backgrounds understand more about the “universe between their ears.” BAW is an international effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and the Society for Neuroscience to advance public awareness about the progress and benefits of brain research.

Brain Awareness Week 2008:

Nationally recognized experts on brain function, brain imaging, stroke, schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury and other areas of neuroscience took part in this years Winston-Salem’s celebration of Brain Awareness Season 2008.

The 2008 National Brain Awareness Week (BAW) was March 10-16, 2008; local events were scheduled in March and April. Internationally, BAW events were presented in 69 countries by over 2,000 organizations. The events highlight the wonders of the brain and nervous system, to help people of all ages and backgrounds understand more about the “universe between their ears.” BAW is an international effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and the Society for Neuroscience to advance public awareness about the progress and benefits of brain research.
