On February 15 the Interpreting and Translation Studies Program invited Dr. Yan Wei, the China Partner Associate Director of the Confucius Institute at NC State University (CI), along with four CI artists and performers, to join the Wake Forest Graduate School of Arts & Sciences’ annual celebration of the Chinese New Year.
After enjoying a delicious New Year’s Eve dinner, guests continued the celebration by participating in traditional cultural activities hosted by the CI artists, including learning Chinese calligraphy, making China knots, decorating New Year’s lanterns and practicing Tai Chi. The highlight of this year’s event was a raffle held by CI who gave away a number of Qinghua porcelain gift sets to some lucky attendees.
